I was 16 when my parents decided to leave for a road trip around Russia. I was quite scared about that country, I don’t know why, maybe because it would have been my first time abroad, far away from my warm and happy home in South of Italy.
Even though my mom and dad were with me, in my mind Russia should be a lonely corner of the world – cold, dull and quite gray.
But once I got there – right in the middle of the Red Square in Moscow – it took just a moment to understand that I was wrong. Russia is such a colorful and joyful place with its incredible churches that you can spot all over the country!
I bought a cute souvenir – a copy of San Basilio – and I came back home feeling glad.
Every time I look at this little thing, it reminds me that it is important when you are able to change your mind. To me, this is one of the most important things that matter.
